Dear Ma,
I have been following your articles and getting some encouragement from them. God bless you ma. However, I’ve been having problems keeping relationships. They always ask for sex which I refuse to give and they end up insulting me, saying I will never find anyone to be in a relationship with unless I agree to sex.
Some of these men I have met claim to be born-again Christians who are always preaching. The last person, who is like a pastor in my church, verbally abused me so much when I refused, saying that he has to taste what he’s going to pay for.
I have been hurt and heartbroken a lot over the years. Sometimes, it feels as though being a virgin is a bad decision but I believe in God’s leading and waiting for his perfect time.
Faith, 25
Dear Evangelist Temilolu,
I have been following you for some time now and you have been a great source of encouragement to me. I am 32-year-old and a young widow.
By the grace of God, I have been keeping myself all these years without indulging myself in any kind of immorality, until this year when things got so hard that I couldn’t even afford to eat or pay my rent.
My church member called me to a joint to meet him not knowing it was a hotel and he had his way before helping me. I got depressed for over a week because I felt I had cheated on God and I was a sinner. Since then, I have been seeing some other men for financial support. Ma, I have done dry fasting and a series of prayers and deliverance but nothing seems to be changing to the point that right now, I can’t pay my bills now or even have enough money to feed. Ma, please I need to stop this but how can I? This is my little secret.

Dear Faith and every sexually pure lady going through emotional and financial hardship,
Believe me, you will have to endure many heartbreaks as a result of your stance but it appears the more painful and harder the situation, the greater your glory and your reward. I’m writing to you from experience. At 25, Faith, you’re very very ripe for marriage but if these men coming won’t do things your way and you’re sure you’re spiritually in charge of your destiny and filled with the power of God, you should see it as God not being ready yet for your marriage.
You should spend this time developing yourself spiritually the more, intellectually, taking courses, building a business no matter the little you have to start with and becoming a formidable force and an institution an average honourable man cannot ignore!
Yes, my dear, don’t be surprised that by the time you sit with God, do all you can to amass His love and presence in your life especially as you’ve chosen not to defile His temple, you’d one day wake up and wonder what in the world made you cry over the men who once broke your heart because they’d seem worthless before you.
I know what I’m talking about. Please, get busy with your life and don’t be too desperate about marriage. God who says it’s not good for man to be alone (Gen.2:18) knows who’s best for you and will blow your mind real soon in Jesus name.
